Although it takes time and a lot of effort to build an audience, you can see the result of your hard work quicker than you think.

It’s always great to meet up, share our travel experience, chat a bit and have a nice local food.

Professional travel blogging allows you to go for free sponsored trips and travel conferences. If your blog is popular, you actually get paid to travel. Moreover, as a successful travel blogger, you will be offered free stays at different hostels, hotels, bars in exchange for honest reviews on your blog. Some travel bloggers get free food tours and cooking classes when traveling across Europe.
Gaining experience in different fields
Travel blogging develops many skills such as writing, photography, marketing, etc. You will discover new things and learn new stuff which can turn into your full-time job. The Internet is so powerful nowadays so keep yourself open to endless possibilities.

Such a inspiring post and yes, travel blogging has been an absolute delight! I haven’t been on the scene as long as yourselves of course, but I have worked hard with dedication and determination to get to where I am. I also have a full-time corporate job, a husband and a pre-teenaged child LOL. It’s been wonderful meeting other bloggers, reaching new heights and getting acknowledged for my performance. I mean, at the beginning of 2014, I hadn’t a clue about Twitter!
There is no advertising on my blog but the benefits have been astounding as I’m actually in the middle of having a documentary made about me as a British expat blogger in Berlin by a TV station, and during Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Germany, I have been invited to be on a panel of British experts on a Live radio show!
Will I get to meet the Queen? Who knows? But that would be the biggest perk of all!

The memories is the best part of starting a travel blog. When I paid $900 for my DSLR so I could take some good photos for my website I told my girlfriend “its an investment into our memories” and now shes so glad that I bought it because of all of the amazing photos we have!

I love this! They are all so true. I’ve only been blogging for about 5 months now – and there have been some times when I sit staring at my screen wondering .. does anyone actually care what I say? Why am I bothering spending so much of my precious free time if no one is even reading it? You’re post has given me a bit of a boost so thank you :)
Hi, I completely agree with you, and I probably saw all of you (the more experienced bloggers) as inspiration while I was too afraid of leaving the comfort … still not left it completely, but I’m definitely on my way to do it.
Great piece. I’ve just started my blog last year, and you are right. It takes time and patience to build an audience. And I have to keep reminding myself of that as I slowly build that audience. My blog focuses on travel tips and travel to Italy in particular–which I know is a popular topic. I will be traveling to Italy again soon, and I had a question based on your tips here. So I am obviously going to be writing pieces for my blog, but how do I go about “selling” articles to other travel blogs, websites, publications, etc.?
