Blogging is all about interactions and audience. If you manage to serve both of these purposes at once, all the better for your blog. The travel blog should be focused on travel, but for some it’s hard to achieve when not traveling (like me at the moment when writing my master’s thesis).
A travel blog is a modern day scrapbook of your journey. Unlike traditional, physical scrapbooks that wear with age and fingerprints, a blog can remain a permanent fixture, which allows you to go back and read through your journey years later and it will remain virtually untouched.
Lonely Planet books are frequently updated, written in an inspiring – often humorous – way, and provide information without bias. They are simply great, BUT … is Lonely Planet killing blogs?
