Photo Gallery: Hectic Streets of Macau

Macau‘s narrow streets and alleys are extremely interesting to explore for the sake of their architecture (a mixture of Cantonese and Portuguese cultures), dynamism and hecticness. You meet locals who are in a constant rush, smell egg tarts, croissants, almond cookies, dried pork and smoked fish from local bakeries and shops, and finally you enjoy the view of fountains. I hope you can feel it when you browse through the pictures in our gallery.

Awesome photos – really hope to get to Macau at some point :) Loved the ship on the floor – reminded me of the Blue Peter ship (the logo of a children’s programme when I was growing up, haha!)

Thank you Miss Bennett. It’s an awesome place, seriously. Way too expensive for budget travellers, but yet so amazing and diverse to explore.

You make Asian travel look so easy! And amazing! I secretly am hoping that we get stationed in Korea or Japan after Europe just so we can hit another section of the world. Thanks for the posts!

Hey Kelly. Thanks a lot! Maybe you should think of settling down for a while in China. It’s a great place to live in.

True. Getting visa was a pain, but we got it. Z visa for one year which means no more visa getaways :)!

Wow! I love the Portuguese influence that nicely mix with the local Cantonese architecture plus I adore egg tarts and I cannot help having more than one at time :)

So happy you liked it! I love this mixture. Missing Macau a lot. Just came back to China… :(

Great photos Agness. We absolutely loved Macau. The mix of history and culture is really unique. The funny thing is that I saw Portuguese written everywhere but I never once heard a single person speaking it.

Thank you Auston. It is unique indeed and that’s true locals don’t speak much Portuguese. That was a pitty as we wanted to pick up some basic words :).
