***UPDATE*** Since there were no instructions included with the item, it took me a minute to find that you need to pull on the mouthpiece to open the valve and get the water flowing. This item has enough tricky aspects that it deserves a page of instructions.
The bag is well designed with one of the zippered pockets going to the bottom and the other terminating in line with the end of the mesh pocket. The mesh pocket is very useful to stuff a jacket in there, or your used bar and gel wrappers, etc.
The one thing I would change is the way the chest straps are setup. They have 3 loops so that you can put them higher or lower, but I had them on the lowest setting and it still wound up too close to my neck. I also had to tighten them as much as possible. Anyway, it worked well enough.
The reason that I bought this pack instead of other similar ones [This appears to be one of many sold on amazon with different brands that are essentially all the same pack] is because it has the waist strap as well. The others did not seem to have the waist strap. This is useful especially for mountain biking when the pack bounces up and down on your back. Less necessary for road biking.
