Picked this pack after ordering a few others to compare. I use it for shorter hikes and biking. So far, so good for the price point. Definitely feels like a pack that someone who actually uses them made.
Pros:
- Fits comfortably to your back, easily adjusted and waist clip is helpful (I’m 6’4 and 230lbs, sized down to fit my wife and daughter as well). Like the shape because I was considering a more expensive one with the same fit.
- Plenty of zippered pockets and organizers! This was the big seller for me, the other packs I tried at this price point had just a bladder pocket. I hike light but I still need a place for my keys, phone, snacks, dog treats ect... and this fit the bill
- Lightweight, yet not paper-like. The other ones I ordered didn’t seem as durable. Small details like zipper pulls were a nice touch.
- Insulated water pouch- thought this was a little much (my Cambelbak doesn’t have one), but my first hike changed my feelings on this.
- Insulated hose cover- also thought this was over the top, but it really worked. No more warm water in my spout, def an added plus.
- Shut off valve on the hose is great for preventing leaks and for pouring water into my pup’s collapsible bowl while on the trail. Saves me from bringing an extra bottle of water for her.
- Didn’t notice any taste or odor from the bladder that some people mention
Cons-
- Hose clip seem to fall off easily, thankfully you get an extra one, but I’m always making sure it’s still on.
- mouth guard cover doesn’t stay on, not a huge loss, but something a little more stable would be helpful
