The Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi, Vietnam

Pictures of the Old Quarter area where I stayed when exploring Hanoi city. This is the place where all hostels, hotels and guest houses are located and where foreigner gather to have some beer together. There are many local shops, bars and restaurants around. Some tourists call it “Hanoi Backpacking Heaven” as the prices of hostels are super cheap (starting from $3 a night). Hoan Kiem Lake is one of the most beautiful parts of this city, located right next to the old part of the city. It’s a great place to chill out and relax. You can spot Vietnamese doing some exercise in the morning, foreigners playing badminton and jogging in the afternoon and some lovers strolling down the park at night admiring the charming Turtle Tower right in the middle of the lake. We love this place indeed! Photos taken on 06/07/2012.
