If you’re hankering for an exciting Southeast Asian trip, then don’t you dare leave Kuala Lumpur out.
The sprawling attractions of this multi-ethnic dynamical city will take you off your feet.
Certainly, the main attractions are the Petronas Towers – which offer fantastic panoramic views. But in order to get there, you’ll have to book a ticket at least one day in advance.
Besides the gigantic Petronas twins, the main attractions include the scenic Merdeka Square, Pasar Seni (Central Market), Medan Pasar with its colorful old shop houses, the charming Old Railway Station (which combines Indo-Saracenic, Neo-Moorish and Mughal architectural styles), the lively Chinatown at Jalan Petaling and many more.
Kuala Lumpur also boasts with a collection of beautiful places of worship, temples, churches… It’s a multi-religious city. Some of the religious attractions include the Masjid Jamek Mosque, the Thean Hou Temple and the Hindu shrine at the Batu Caves, just a 20-30 minute train ride away from KL.

That last picture is not Central Market. That’s an old restaurant located in Petaling Street (2 streets away). The second last picture though, is a shot taken from Central Market.
But yeah, my hometown rocks! :D
Great timing since we are currently planning a trip to Malaysia next year! I’m looking forward to Kuala Lumpur, especially all of the street food, and then moving on to dive in Borneo.
My husband and I are planning a trip to parts of South East Asia next year and we’re really looking forward to KL! I visited there briefly on my own five years ago, but Zab has never been so it’ll be fun to discover the city together this time.
Hey, thanks for publishing my post.
Looks lovely! ;)
Great pics! Can’t wait to see SE Asia one day.
KL does such a effortless job of melding cultural elements with super high tech, futuristic ones. Love this place!
Great photos. I love the combination of these colourful buildings in front of the skyscrapers.
Thanks ;)
KL is a scenic place for taking photos, indeed. I could barely put my camera down!
KL has such pretty architecture! I could only see its airport. Hope to make an exclusive there someday. :-)
I absolutely agree with that, Renuka!

Thanks, I wanted to hunt the unique attractions, see it from unique angles, enjoy the contrast on the streets and so on.
I have tonnes of other photos of KL, of course :)

Yes, it is. I totally agree!
Thanks so much for sharing these pictures. It was definitely a trip down memory lane!! I remember one of the highlights of my trip to KL was crossing the sky bridge between the two PETRONAS Towers (which, btw, is my favorite pic here)!
Great shots! Hopefully we will go to Kuala Lumpur next time we’ll be in Asia :)
