ToggleOia, Santorini, Greece
If you want to experience romance, but also would love to get a nice tan and swim in warm sea – then Oia and Santorini villages in Greece is just perfect for you. These two small villages are actually located on one beautiful Greek island. So traveling there with a boat will be truly romantic at the very begging. Despite the perfect climate and fantastic Greek cuisine, Oia and Santorini will make you fall in love with their unique white and blue colored houses. Not to forget – will make you fall in love more with your beloved one as well!
Casablanca, Morocco
Most of us have seen the classical and legendary movie with a tragic love story that was located in Morocco. And yes. I am talking both about the movie and the city called Casablanca! This is just one good reason why you should spend your romantic time here! If you always loved some spiciness and a little bit of exoticness in your lives, then this place is the best for sure. In Morocco, you can find everything from modern architecture, luxurious hotels and ordinary local nomads’ villages to hot desserts and warm ocean water. So the whole country is just another incredible adventure you can take with your dearest lover.
Belize
Simply – Belize. This small Caribbean island is so small that there is no need to mention the exact place in this little country where you should stay. The whole island is beautiful and small enough to explore it without much of your precious time wasted. What I love about Belize is that this real tropical paradise is not yet discovered by masses of tourists, meaning that prices there won’t be too big, and people will be friendlier and more sincere as well. Therefore, if you are looking for secluded, tropical and romantic paradise – choose Belize and you won’t regret it.
Kyoto, Japan
One of the most romantic places on Earth is definitely in Japan then cherries blossom creating truly unique, sweet and romantic scenery. While Kyoto, the ancient capital city of the Japanese Empire, is also worth visiting for those people who seek more romance in their lives. Complemented by hundreds-of-years-old Buddhist temples, beautiful gardens and majestic palaces, Kyoto is the embodiment of what is traditional Japan. Visiting it in spring then sakura’s starts to show their beauty will surely let your hearts blossom with love more as well!
Patagonia, Argentina
And finally, if you both are little adventure seekers, love trekking and adore wild nature – Patagonia’s region in Argentina is just perfect for you two. The steep glacier called Perito Moreno is worth stopping by if you decide to visit Argentina at the very first place. Also, let’s not forget about whales, penguins and elephant seals you and your beloved one can observe there as well. And maybe after some nature’s beauty, you both can head to Buenos Aires for some passionate tango? I do believe that Argentina will make you fall in love more than any time before!Â

I would add camping at the beach in Tulum, Mexico.
True! Forgot about that one! :-)
I always think of Hawai’i. Everyone always talks about how expensive it is but right now plane tickets are $435 where I am (from Los Angeles it starts $260). If you wait until summer it’s $700 or more so now is the time!
Actually, that’s not that expensive. Let’s make it next next summer! :)
The Taj Mahal was the most romantic so far – went there on my honeymoon :)
Agreed! I’m heading there next month, can’t wait, seriously!
You left out Cape Town, South Africa! The beaches here are perfect for romance, especially at sunset! Those places you listed are certainly top of the list, but I really feel that South Africa deserves a big mention when it comes to being cheap, because the national currency here is at an all time low, meaning the world currency (as a standard) goes almost three times as far as anywhere else nearly. Do a quick check on Google for the conversion from rands to whatever your national currency is real-time, and you’ll see.
I would love the chance to go see Casablanca one day, even and if only because I love old classic movies. Great post pre-Valentines Day. :)
as brilliant as the film is, im not sure modern day Casablanca is that romantic. Although the souk is great for a bit of an explore!
This is a great list of super-romantic places, Agness. But I would definitely add Halong Bay in Vietnam and Yangshuo respectively Guilin in Guangxi province in China to this list. Plus ancient Petra especially by night should not be missed. There is nothing more romantic than walking slowly through the Siq at night, solely illuminated by candle lights, and encountering the Treasury which is also enlightened by hundreds of candles every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8.30 PM and lasts for around two hours. The scenery is accompanied by Bedouins playing on their instruments, telling a story and serving Bedouin mint tea.
I totally forgot about Yangshuo, Vanessa. So true. As for Halong Bay I can’t agree – way too touristic.
So romantic! Kyoto and Santorini are on top of our bucket list. They look amazing on the pictures. We really hope to see them in real soon :).
Our favourite romantic destinations are Krakow in Poland, Rome, Venice, islands in Thailand and El Nido in Philippines :)
Santorini is a perfect place for all lovers! :)
What beautiful and romantic places!
Kyoto, Japan is one of my dreams! I have this whole Japanese vacation in my mind that will happen… one day!
Casablanca in Morocco will be my first priority…..and the rest will follow.
Udaipur, India, or Esfahan, Iran; both for the same reason – sit by the lake/river and recite poetry while watching the sun set <3
Is it bad that I think anywhere with my beloved is a romantic place to be?
Not at all. If I was in love, I would probably feel the same way :-).
Hah! I’ve been to 3 of your 5 places. Although you can have part 2, 3, 4,etc of this list. So many romantic places around the globe, isn’t it?
I love Santorini, it’s such a lovely island! :)
Totally agree! :)
Santorini seems the most romantic place to me!
Greece in overall is a romantic travel destination, no matter where you go… <3!
Great list Oia gets my vote, I would also add Lake Garda – one of my favourite places to visit in the world!
